Prague Devcon 2006 Day 2

After the sessions yesterday I was really looking forward to the day's events especially from Craig who had not promised that today he would finally show some VFP code and boy did he show some code! The venue for the sessions was the same as the previous day but we found out that the air conditioning would not be working so it promised to be a "hot" experience and Craig certainly set off at about 120 degrees Farenheit!

With VFP you can Run with the Pack but still stand out from the Crowd!

Keynote - Yair Alan Griver

YAG opened the Prague VFP conference with a keynote speech which began with a small statement in memory of the deceased Drew Speedie who is sadly missed by the VFP community. He then followed this with a small presentation of the promotional video put together by Kevin Ragsdale which raised some humour from the conference when it ended with the "Starwars" rolling/scrolling backwards text declaration as to the benefits of using VFP - very impressive Kevin! 

I just wonder whiy it is that the best and ONLY piece of marketing for VFP in the last 5 years to my knowledge has been produced by a developer with a budget probably less than £5. Microsoft please take note.

Well I'm getting ready for going to Prague for the 2006 VFP Devcon. Hopefully we will meet up with some old friends fromprevious years as well as make some new ones. The list of speakets this year is radically different from previous years and I'm particularly looking forward to the session from   Martin Haluza on the latest version of XFRX which we need to update from about 2 years ago.

The infamous Doug Hennig will be there along with   YAG - Yair Alan Griver who I have never had the pleasure of meeting.

This time I'm going to try and see alittle ore of Prague and post a summary of the sessions into this blog with some photos (hopefully embarrasing!!!) for those of you not able to join in the fun.
